Founder | Executive Director | Board Member
Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side neighborhood Mt. Greenwood, his first love was literature, studying for a BA, then MA at UIC. He finished a nearly 3 year travel adventure including commercial fishing in Alaska, biking/hiking/hitching California’s Highway 1, and a year teaching/wandering Colombia and Mexico. He returned to his roots in 2015 with an amplified excitement to explore and further recognize the beauty of his home and its surrounding area. He has been on multiple long bike rides; including a 1,000 mile ride through the Canadian and American Pacific Northwest as well as numerous rides up to Indiana and Michigan. Chat him up on a ride about other worldly travels, his favorite local beer, and his hero Walt Whitman.

Anna Henschel
Board Secretary | Field Guide
During the week Anna spends her days helping travelers from around the world explore Chicago and enjoys nothing more than bragging about her favorite city! She is passionate about creating a supportive environment for women in the cycling community whether it’s introducing people to overnight bike trips, or helping friends overcome their fear of biking in the big city! As a lifelong bicycle lover Anna is a firm believer that if everyone had the opportunity to get on a bike and experience the thrill of a camping trip they would never look back. If you ask nicely, Anna might even bring some freshly baked cookies for the ride'

Kyle Trebotich
Field Guide | Travel Abroad Program Coordinator
Kyle has spent some solid time in the saddle traversing the UK, Mexico, Colombia, and even Morocco. However, not long ago he realized there was a lot left unexplored in his home country and set off for an epic bike camping tour through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. "The UP in autumn... can't beat it. It just reinforced my itch to find the adventure in home! That's where Out Our Front Door came in." When Kyle is not on his bike, you'll catch him hanging with his dog Toaster. Bonus points for spotting Kyle hauling Toaster by bike.

Breanna Bertacchi
Field Guide
Originally from California, but raised in the cornfields of Ohio, Breanna now resides on the South Side of Chicago. When she's not bike camping, she's coordinating clinical trials and budgets, volunteering with other organizations, brewing/fermenting something, reading or (most likely) swimming. She's ventured all over the US for backpacking trips, rock climbing, kayaking and hiking. If there's an awesome bug or plant on your ride, Breanna will probably be the one googling it with you to find out what it is. Currently she's focusing on incorporating greener living into her life, including aquaponics, hen-keeping, beekeeping, foraging and seed saving. Ask her about her two pet bunnies!

Ben Blair
Board Member | Field Guide
Ben appreciates the dedicated awareness playing in traffic on two wheels demands. Whether it be Chicago's paths or circuitous routes between off the beaten path breweries in Wisconsin and Michigan, he very much enjoys navigating the world under his own power. Most recently, sharing that love for the outdoors and cycling with his young children has brought him immense joy. In addition to parenting and cycling, Ben enjoys the camaraderie of like-minded folks looking for adventure out their front doors and a cup of coffee brewed on a camp stove.
