A New Youth Environmental Education Program

The Out Our Front Door Organization has been selected as a finalist for the Delta Emerging Leaders BOOST Grant.
Join us as we present our new youth program, who we are, and where we are going on stage in front of a live audience against 4 other finalists for a chance to seed our early organizational growth on Tuesday November 14th at Chop Shop in Wicker Park! Housed in a 100-year-old former auto body shop, the Chop Shop is Chicago’s only sustainable butcher + deli + restaurant + bar with a 6,000 square foot event space and concert venue.

A LIVE PITCH FEST.

ABOUT BOOST
BOOST IS A LIVE, CROWD-FUNDED PITCH FEST IN SUPPORT OF ENERGY, ECOSYSTEM, AND WASTE INNOVATIONS IN CHICAGO.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
"Social Entrepreneurs with unique and innovative projects apply to pitch their concepts to a live audience at the BOOST event. Audience members vote with their ticket contributions to determine the winning innovators. Winners split the BOOST grant - funds raised by the Delta Emerging Leaders - as well as the night's ticket sales to fund their business projects. Last year, BOOST grants totaled $4,500 to each of the two winners." -Delta Emerging Leaders

This community-driven approach to financing social ventures overcomes a funding barrier for local entrepreneurs and engages hundreds of people to directly invest in the future of Chicago.

For A Sustainable & Diverse Ecological Future.

Out Our Front Door is creating a biking and nature community for Chicago and the Lower Lake Michigan Basin Area. These BOOST funds will go directly into the launch of our new Youth Program which will engage and educate Chicago youth in
  • Environmental Management
  • Conservation Science, Glaciation, Geology, Ecological Restoration.
  • Trail & Cultural History, Wildlife Sciences.
  • Touring and Outdoor education and the importance of public land.
  • All done through a bicycle and overnight bike camping adventures.
Come to know who we are and where we are going. We think about about the art of travel. We think about a simple device called a bicycle, a mode of transportation for exploration and adventure, to see a perspective outside our own no matter how far or small the journey.
