Chicago Bike Tours. History Nature and Adventure with Great Lakes Audubon
Great Marshes and Great Migrations:
Protecting and Restoring Critical Bird Habitat in the Calumet Region
By Audubon Great Lakes Conservation Science Associate Stephanie Beilke
Wednesday  September 20th
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
At HI Hostel Chicago
24 East Congress Parkway
Chicago, Illinois 60605
For Local and International Audience
Flight and travel have never been this interesting until now.

Join The Out Our Front Door Organization and Audubon Great Lakes on an adventure from above as we view the natural spaces of Chicago and shift preconceived notions of interdunal wetlands into one for the continental future.

After, explore the region on your own or by group via foot bike or train on two oh so important days; Bike Your Park and Public land Day. If curiosity is at your heart then don’t miss this special presentation of Breaking Continents above the Sky: Discovering Chicago’s nature and beyond.

Hosted at Hi Chicago Hostel for the public and international stage. Presented by Audubon Great Lakes Conservation Science Associate Stephanie Beilke & The Out Our Front Door Organization: Ride Learn Explore.

Topics to be discussed:
  • Natural landscapes to visit, how to get there and where to overnight.
  • The fragmentation of natural habits and their disruption to continental routes and flyways.
  • A deeper focus on "The Great Marsh" region located near Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Chicago's South side Calumet Millennium Reserve.
  • How we can shape the future: Restoration efforts being done on wetland habitats and their benefits locally and worldwide, and how the public can get more involved in these restoration efforts for these vital ecosystems.
If you thought you were a traveler then think again.

Will there be another event like this for this year? It sounds exciting and interesting. I love nature and I love travelling.
