2019 Bike Camping Registration Open!

Welcome to OOFD 2019! Goodness was last year a blast, and this year is going to be even better. In 2018, we led 19 overnight bike camping adventures that engaged over 250 people.  Not bad considering just two years before we led 5 rides for a total of about 45 riders. 2019 saw the Family Program roll with 4 awesome camping weekends and the Youth Program was launched and led number of rides including a some bike camping trips to nearby state parks. Not to mention the 100+ person bike camping festival at Starved Rock. Thanks to everyone who was a part of 2018.
As for this year, we will be leading a wide variety of bike camping rides and will be offering a number of day rides as well. The Family Program is adding a day ride series to get families on shorter rides to enjoy the trails/nature around the city. We also are revamping our Where the Wild Things Grow Program which are monthly day trips to complete environmental service in our parks and forest preserves.

These will go public on March 1. We expect all of our rides to sell out this year, so get on it!

We're especially excited for the Battle for the Dunes ride on June 1-2 which we are partnering with Adventure Cycling Association and the Indiana Dunes National Park to put on a big event with about 70 riders. Definitely not something to miss.

We also want to let you, our community, know that one of our co-founders and visionaries, Andrew St. Paul, has moved on from the organization. It was tough for the team to lose such an incredible human. With that said, the OOFD team gets bigger and better with each day.

By the way, if you want to join our team, learn more about what we do, or just hang with some awesome bike adventuring type folks, be sure to come out to one of our monthly hangs at On Tour Brewing in West Town. They are the first Tuesday of each month from 7:30-10pm with the next one taking place on March 5 which will be one of two major volunteer trainings this year. All are welcome.

Looking forward to riding with y'all this year!

Much love,
The House of OOFD

Guided Bike Camping Trips and Tours

We have over a dozen group bike camping trips covering the entire Chicagoland region and all are welcome. Check out the new line up, including trips for adults, families, youth, and fat bikers, from the beginner to the seasoned pro. Events range from two and three day camping trips, day rides, and trail and nature service days. Take a look at what trips you want to be sure to get on this year and make it happen! And keep in mind, the first step towards becoming an OOFD overnight guide is to go on a ride as a participant.

Every nation should have an event like this for Earth day campaign. To promote healthy body as well as the nature.
