Arrival Options

Meet at Buckingham Fountain: We will roll 9:00 am (1.5 hour guided bike ride through various neighborhoods and landmarks to Earth Day Event to/with Friends of the Major Taylor Trail.

South Siders

Meet at one of the Following Functions by bike, by foot or by car. (Hint this is Earth Day so get your hands dirty and start the day of right at the Major Taylor Trail with us)

Major Taylor Trail

Do Good & Feel Good | 9am-12pm

Let's help the Major Taylor Trail get ready for summer by trimming trees and cleaning up debris. We will meet at the Major Taylor Mural where the trail meets 111th Street. (1030 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60643.)

​​"Tools and work gloves will be available, as well as water and light snacks, provided by Friends of the Major Taylor Trail Group. Supportive boots or shoes are recommended. If you have a favorite pair of work gloves, bring them."

How about sitting on the highest point in Chicago overlooking the Dan Ryan Woods & the North End of the Major Taylor Trail with an ancient alcoholic beverage made from fermented honey’ -Lunch at Wild Blossom Meadery, Winery and Brewery, a local bee keeper & wine maker. With Native Illinois wildflower seed sowing and hiking too.

Bike Ride through Beverly

Peaceful pedaling | 4pm -5pm

Architecture Galore! After lunch we'll ride to the only Castle in Chicago and do some peaceful pedaling through Chicago's Beverly neighborhood. Note: The architectural views here are pretty spectacular.

Horse Thief Hollow

After Party at Brewery | 5pm-Midnight

Food, Drinks, Band, and Free Bike Valet!!! We will drop in Horse Thief Hollow Brewing Co. for Special one of kind Earth Day themed Martinis | Locally Hand crafted beer brewed onsite | Flavorful cooking: Gumbo, crab cakes, slow-smoked bbq and more.

RETURN HOME: For anyone who biked from the city return home via 107th St Metra Train station conveniently located nearby. Last Metra Rock Island train to downtown leaves 107th St. at 11:13 p.m.
